Thanking all of our clients who made their way through the tough year of 2008 and bought or sold their homes with our group. It is such a daunting task to move your family from one home to another and we thank you for the trust you place in us. We hope you are all relaxing and enjoying the fruits of your labor of love. Even a small move to a spread out and relish a little more elbow room is a good move in a slower market. We are watching people make much more conservative choices and we have always believed in that as a rule of thumb.

Calling for 4.5% on mortgage rates soon....

If you have any chance of staying in your home for a few years, then refinancing would be a good idea at the time they dip. This is unbelievably good news in a tough market and we welcome it! Check the mortgage calculators and see if this is a good time to buy or refinance. We are finding that people are making more conservative moves than before which is smart!

Happy Real Estate News...

OK, so we all know it's not the best market but I received tons of real estate related articles and emails daily. Here are my favorites:

1. First Time Home buyers are getting out and taking advantage of a great real estate market for buyers.

2. Hilliard homes average sales prices went down 3.99% BUT the average across the US is down 9.88%.

3. Our group sales were down about 5% over last year total. Not bad, considering the total market share! Which means that homes in our market area are still selling in spite of the economy!

4. People are starting to buy more investment properties as more people are in the rental markets. There are fantastic buys out there and people eager to rent them.

5. FHA loans are making a fashionable come back! Yea!

Let's all admit we are glued to our computers and watch the results together. Will it make a difference in the real estate market in Columbus Ohio?

Why I love Being in Real Estate...

I still wake up each morning with renewed hope that the market is going to bounce back soon. We have been very fortunate in that we are still selling at the rate that we did 2 years ago, but it isn't luck.

We have been cutting here and there, yes. I still believe in print media and it seems we are one of the last remaining agents who actually still believe that a newpaper or glossy magazine might prompt a phone call from someone to pop through a home we have listed. Our web presence is everywhere, but it can become diluted too easily.


If you want a team who is commited to trying every avenue to get a home sold, then let it be us. We still love the thrill of helping a person find that right home for their family. We still enjoy the crisp fall weather and showing homes to people who are from out of town and may not have enjoyed Ohio weather before. We love open houses and can tell you we have sold several off of them this year. We love coming into the office and seeing one another on a daily basis. We are positive that the market will turn around in Columbus for everyone. We have a wonderful city we believe to be one of the best places to call home.
