Check Out This Weekend's Open Houses

All open houses are on our website at http://www.memoriesbeginathome.com/

With the loss of power at our home & at work, we are working to keep our blog up to date but have been a little lax. Something about being without your computer for a few days does that to you!

Open this weekend, we have a lovely home in Hilliard Ohio which is a 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath home, with a huge deck overlooking a lush fenced yard...it is open on Sunday from 2-4pm and is located at 5338 Old Creek Drive in Hyde Park! It is listed at $219,900 and offers more for the money than many other homes in this price range.

Also, if condominium living is in your future, stop by and see Christine Miller at her model home at Ashleigh Village from 12-5pm Saturday and Sunday! The floor plans are refreshingly different, light, bright, airy with flexible plans to suit your every mood. Bring your imaginations and see yourself in a carefree condominium by the end of the year!

Hopefully you are enjoying the beautiful bright turquoise skies after our Ike invasion and having a little fun with the disconnect! Life is full of surprises and one of them is that we learn from these experiences and grow from them.

Making your home stand out in a good way!

Did you see that home? Or, did you SEE that home? Maybe you could get away with an odd colored home or pink for that matter in Key West, but in Columbus Ohio it might not appeal to the average home buyer. Not that we don't see them, but it does make sense that when you are selling your home, a nice neutral and warm tone works well. We have taken many classes on how to make your home stand out and make an impression on buyers. Staging your home to sell is key.

Making a statement with color as an accent is best. Getting attention for all of the right reasons will better suit your selling process.

Happy Tuesday! Susan

Feedback feedback...

Since this is a real estate blog, I thought we would go over constructive feedback.

Did the agent who showed your home say that they hated color of the front door for the 15th time? Then, that is something that needs to be addressed in order to get the potential buyers to look past the front door and into your home!

Is the feedback something that you can't change? The size of the bedrooms, the view of the freeway, or the fact that your home doesn't have a formal dining room are things that say that you haven't found the right buyer yet. With staging, the bedrooms can look bigger, or some trees might help block the view but your agent should have all ready mentioned these things to you, right? Getting the best price means doing everything you can to ensure that it appeals to the most buyers.

One can neutralize to the point of making it too bland or stark white. The new "it" colors should be provided to the sellers who want to make their home stand out as move in conditions. Check with your agents and ask them to help you choose the right colors. It can make all the difference in the world!

We provide feedback to our clients via a service which allows the sellers to accesstheir feedback via web postings 24/7. They are given their own access code and we do not filter the messages so they hear the "raw" feedback. Sometimes it hurts and other times it can be rather funny. Together, we decide what may need to be improved or left as it is. Working through the feedback is part of the process and it is more important today than ever before!

Thanks for visiting! Susan
