The "Take Away" Theory Works on Homes Too!

Over the weekend I witnessed a home for sale in Dublin Ohio  being shown at the same time by 3 realtors along with their clients and extended families.  Needless to say, everyone was a little excited about this home but tried to contain it in front of the other families.   There was nothing really "over the top" exciting about this home other than the beautiful new hardwood floors throughout the home.  But, when people sense that others want it, they want it too!  The "take away" theory works in real estate just like it does in dating! Once you lose something or someone, it takes on new meaning and develops a life force of it's own. Your imagination goes to lingering over coffee, snuggling on the sofa...you get the picture.  Well, we wrote on it, and so did 5 other couples.  No one wanted this home to be "taken away" from them!

Needless to say, we lost it, but found a better match for this family last night, so it truly did work out for the best.  We actually talked through it and all agreed that this frenzy was really quite unbelievable. They didn't sleep that night worrying because they didn't have time to really look closely at the home!

Think about it, you couldn't have "staged" this event, but it was very interesting to witness the "posturing" of the buyers, agents and families.

This business never ceases to surprise us with each day we welcome into our business lives.

Take care, Susan
